The Great North Snowdogs Have Arrived at Eldon Garden

For ten weeks during Autumn and Winter 2016, the North East will become home to a series of individually designed Snowdog sculptures, painted by both well-known and undiscovered artists.

This will result in a sculpture trail, sponsored by businesses and individuals, showcasing the rich cultural offer and wealth of artistic talent in the area. Local people can become ‘tourists in their own city’ with a trail map and dedicated app will lead them from popular tourist destinations to lesser known areas of the region.

Each of the Snowdog sculptures are based on the story The Snowman and The Snowdog, by Raymond Briggs and in addition to the large dogs there are 97 smaller snowdogs on display in litters across the region at 18 venues.

We’ve been lucky enough to get six ‘pawfect’ puppies in the Centre which are on show now for you to all come and enjoy.

The local schools which designed our puppies are; South Gosforth First School, Lord Blyton Primary School,Marine Park Primary School, Darras Hall First School, The Dales Specialist School and Biddick Hall Junior School.
